Unikt tillfälle att se konst från 1600-talet

Som en del i det tvärvetenskapliga forskningsprojektet kring Peder Winstrup (1605-1679) behandlar denna utställning konsten som kom till i Peder Winstrups tid. Med konsten som källmaterial presenteras 1600-talet utförligt.

Bilderna berättar om politik och religion, levnadsvillkor och nöjen, kvinnligt och manligt samt nya landvinningar och trender.

Konstverken i utställningen kommer från Lunds universitets konstsamling, som vanligtvis inte är tillgänglig för allmänheten. Därför är det ett unikt tillfälle att se dessa utvalda målningar och grafiska blad på Historiska museet.

Några av utställningens konstnärer är Rembrandt van Rijn, Antonis van Dyck, Gerrit van Honthorst, Abraham Bloemaert, Willem Claeszoon Heda och Pieter Potter.    

Utställningen pågår från 21 december 2016 till 26 februari 2017.

Peder Winstrup and the Art of his Time

Paintings and prints from the 17th century in Lund University Art Collection. New exhibition – a unique opportunity to view art from the 17th century

As part of the interdisciplinary project about Peder Winstrup (1605-1679), this exhibition will display a range of artworks created during and around his lifetime. Using art as the main source, it presents various aspects of the 17th century.

The pictures tell stories about politics and religion, livings conditions and pleasures, gender perspectives, new achievements and trends.

The artworks in the exhibition come from the Lund University Art Collection, which is not normally open to the public. This is, therefore, a unique opportunity to view a selection of paintings and prints at the Historiska museet. (Historical Museum at Lund university).

The exhibition runs from December 21st until February 26th 2017.
