The Historical Museum’s 11 million archaeological objects, archives, and conservation department will eventually move to new climate-proof and accessible premises. Researchers, students, and the general public will be able to visit a state-of-the-art repository with open display areas as well as improved digital infrastructure.
To get there, the museum’s research facilities and lending services will have to be shut down for a few years, starting in January 2023. We hope for your understanding of this service interruption. The Museum at Kraftstorg will of course be open during this period.
Museums and institutions that have already lent material from the Historical Museum will be granted extensions during the relocation period, if necessary. The submission of archaeological material can continue as usual.
